What is a City tree?
Answer

A City tree is any tree located on City owned land. This includes trees located within the public right of way. In most cases a tree growing between the sidewalk and the road is a City tree or in the case of no sidewalk if the tree is immediately adjacent to the roadway. If you are unsure if a tree belongs to City please feel free to contact us by submitting a service request here, by email at newtonforestry@newtonma.gov, or at (617) 796-1530
